Description: The school was the vision of St. Dominic pastor Rev. Charles J. Canivan. An elementary school opened in 1924, staffed by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and led by Sister M. Marcella, the first Superior at St. Dominic. The high school opened in 1928. A new high school building was unveiled in 1941. The Monsignor James E. Collins Sports Center, which can seat 2,000, opened in 1978.
