Description: Chaminade was established by the Marianists in 1930. The school was named after Blessed William Joseph Chaminade (1761-1850), the sect's founder. The school boasts some famous alums, including U.S. Senator Al D'Amato, actor Brian Dennehy, Virginia football coach Al Groh, Newsday reporter Mark LaMonica and political commentator Bill O'Reilly.
