Senior Alana Biagioli swam a 55.32 for first place in the 100 free style and qualified for the states, according to coach Daniel McBride. Another senior, Emily DiDonato was a double winner taking the 200 IM (individual medley) in 2:20.58 and the top spot in the 100 breast stroke in 1:10.60.

As the Friars seek to tune up their line up for future meets senior Meredith Vanderveldt paced herself to a time of 1:18.19 to capture first place in the 100 butterfly stroke. Sophomore Colleen Manning also contributed to the win with a 2:27.63 in the free style race.

Though she sat out last swimming season, Brianne Dwyer has returned with a vengeance as the senior was a double winner; 2.21.56 in the 200 free style and 1.22.06 times that keyed her team’s victory.
The five-time league champion Friars are now 2-0 on the young season.

Seeking a six straight league champions the Friars (1-0) demonstrated their depth as senior Marisa Taddeo qualified for the states in the 200 freestyle with a first place time of 2.19 and Lindsey Parmitier, who coach Daniel McBride calls his “little powerhouse and toughest competitor” won the 200 IM (individual medley) in 2.20.76.
Senior Alana Biagioli captured the 100 free style in 55.76, .2 off a state qualifying time, McBride said. “That’s been our strength as champions, our depth,” the coach said.
